The Magic of Words

A blind boy was sitting on the steps of a building with a hat on his feet.
He held a sign that said, “I can’t see, please help.”There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by.

He took some coins out of his pocket and put them in his hat.
Then he took the sign, turned it over and wrote some words.
He put the sign back where anyone who passed by could see it
new words
Soon the hat began to fill up. More and more people were giving money to the blind boy.
That afternoon, the man who replaced the sign came over to see how things were going.

The boy recognized his steps and said, “You were the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?”
The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said, but in a different way.”
“I wrote: Today is a beautiful day, but I can’t see it.”
These two signs told people that the boy had not been seen. But the first sign is that the boy does not appear.
The second sign reminded people of how lucky they were to have sight.
Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
Moral of the story:
Be creative, innovative, think differently and positively.
Let’s share it. Maybe you can cheer someone up and put a smile on their face.
